OLD SCHOOL.
Maybe you are one of those rare people who really
enjoyed school. But, I doubt you ever considered living
there. So why think about moving into Union Square?
Consider this: Union
Square is full of hardwood maple floors, twelve to
sixteen foot ceilings, double banister stairways and
generous twelve-inch oak windowsills. Not enough for
you? How about genuine slate chalkboards, old fire
drill instructions and trophy cases, and vintage
lockers and light fixtures? Photos
You get it all at Union Square because
it’s the oldest school building in Grand
Rapids. What started in 1825 as the Grand River
Valley’s first Native American Mission is now
the hottest new downtown address for the modern
urban dweller. The building that now occupies the
corner of Turner and Broadway was built in 1872 and
was GR’s primary high school until 1968.
Want this undeniable style at an
unbelievable price? Be cool. Live at school.
